Life Of The Party

The series of paintings depicts Gen-Z’s excess, intimacy, and recklessness. The playful paintings hint at the egocentrics presented in today’s youth, interrogating Gen-Z's ‘main character syndrome’. Influenced by pop culture aesthetics, scenes of parties are staged to create heightened psychological theatres, questioning both identity and feelings of belonging. While seemingly, these paintings depict joy and parties, but they also raise the question of: is this who we really are? Do we belong here? and most importantly, who constructs the spectacle and who controls it?
